Authentic. Reliable.

The more things change, the more they stay the same. The athletic communications industry has been around as long as athletics themselves, but has undergone massive changes since the turn of the century. The internet and social media have been game-changers for the way things are done in the field. Organizations went from communicating almost exclusively with media outlets and third parties to being able to create on their own. Brands developed out of thin air, and organizations were able to create their own identity.Despite all the change in the way things are done in the industry, two core principles remain unchanged, and off of them, I base my personal brand.

Authenticity is the foundation of any good brand. People are not interested in what a brand has to offer if that brand is not true to itself. In the sports world, fans identify with their team’s brand as much as they do with their team, and if their team’s brand is not true to them, they will have a tough time identifying with it.

Reliability is the foundation of any good organization. In an industry like sports, things can get hectic very quickly, and if an organization is not reliable, they are not held in high regard by others.

I strive to do what is needed of me when it is needed, and I do it in a way that is authentic to the brand I represent.
